The prestigious Excelsior Grand Hotel is set in the heart of Catania. It combines classic architecture with modern facilities including Wi-Fi, modern conference rooms and a fitness centre.

Most of the elegant guest rooms feature a panoramic balcony with a view of Mount Etna or the piazza.

Relax in the fitness centre complete with hydromassage showers, Turkish bath and gym. The conference rooms are all bright and spacious and have a maximum capacity of 350 people.

It met nearly all my expectations

There was an implication that reserved parking was available in Catania. This was not so. Free parking (white) on the road was insufficient and municipal (blue) parking was expenive. internet Info was misleading !

We asked for another room on our second day (as it had a rather unpleasant smell) and were given a much better room.

All 4 of us found the pillows very hard and uncomfortable. One of our party asked for a softer pillow but the replacement was no better.

Excellent friendly helpful staff, very clean room, breakfast was very tasty and room service was excellent

Poor location, no airport bus, needed to take either the local bus service or a 30 euro taxi ride. Air con in room not working. Didn't realise we had arrived as the photo of the outside of the photo is taken from th only angle which doesn't show the shabby surroundings!!

het vertrek

het ontbijt was ontoereikend; weinig keuze; slechte bediening; voor bijv een gekookt ei moest extra worden betaald. De gastvrijheid was ver onder de maat. De kamers werden minimaal schoongemaakt.Tussentijds eten bestellen was niet mogelijk. Informatie wat te doen in de omgeving was onvoldoende. Zo moesten we een taxi nemen naar het strand ,terwijl het hotel een goedkope schuttle had met een taxibe

la qualita' del letto e il buffet delle colazioni, la cucina per la cena a' la carte e' stata buona, qualita' prezzo dei vini perfetta servizio serale buono, servizio di piccola colazione nella norma

bagagli da portare in camera senza che la reception si premurasse almeno di chiedere l' intervento del personale, non si accompagna nelle camere il cliente per un 5 stelle non e' un buon servizio tropa clientela convenzionata ma per un albergo di citta' e' comprensibile
