Near the new cable car of Courmayeur, set in a 19th-century building on the banks of River Dora Baltea, Hotel Tavernier is located on a former hydrotherapy centre. Its wellness facility comprises ancient techniques and modern technology.

Hotel Tavernier is named after Jean Baptiste Tavernier, the 16th century French traveller and pioneer in trade who also discovered the 1st thermal springs in Courmayeur.

The main feature of the Tavernier’s wellness centre is a small pool set in a cave, with waterfalls and hydro massage. The hotel is furnished in a typical Valle d'Aosta style and is also close to the new cable car in Courmayeur.

The restaurant, open every day, offers a selection of traditional regional cuisine and international dishes. Enjoy the classics of mountain life, reading a book, listening to music or playing cards by the fireplace in the restaurant or bar.

During winter the hotel may only be available for long stays of 2 or more nights.

All children under 2 years are charged EUR 12.00 per night and person for cots.

All older children or adults are charged 40 % of the room stay per night and person for extra beds.

Maximum capacity of extra beds in a room is 2.

Maximum capacity of babycots in a room is 2.

Extra beds and baby cots are upon request and need to be confirmed by the hotel.

Supplements will not be calculated automatically in the total costs and have to be paid separately in the hotel.

Hotel information

Wellness centre and Spa are accessible with a card entitling guests to use the facilities for a one day session (opening hours 17:00-19:00). The card has a fixed price; subsequent days are then charged at a 50% discount.

Purchasing a card gives you the possibility of enjoying individual facilities and treatments, at an extra cost.

Parking is available (at an extra cost) at the hotel’s private garage just 5 minutes away.

Food & beverage

Breakfast is served from 08.00 to 10.00.
Dinner is served from 19.30 to 21.30.

The bar is open from 08.00 until 23.30.

Room information

The large and spacious rooms offer a mountain view.
Some rooms can be fitted with a 3rd and 4th bed.
There is 20% discount for the 3rd bed and 30% for the 4th bed.

The area boasts a variety of seasonal facilities and activities for you to experience. These include a number of ski and snowboarding resorts, golf courses, canoeing and rafting courses, mountain biking, a swimming pool, tennis courts and horse riding, wall climbing, gliding, adventure parks and fishing.

Good location for both town centre and access to ski-slope. Easy, free parking. Friendly, helpful staff who provided info on ski hire, town and piste maps, location of restaurants, shops etc.

Mini-bar not stocked. Breakfast fairly basic - tea/coffee awful! Spa facilities a bit run-down.

The hotel was very close to one of the main cable cars, and we were able to rent skis very close by. The apartment style room was very nice, and had we stayed for a week, we would have taken advantage of the mini kitchen in the room. It was a very welcoming hotel and very spacious. I would definitely recommend this place, and go back if we ever make it to Courmayeur again.

The shower was incredibly small and made it hard to move around.

Near to ski lift. Staff extremely helpful & friendly. Nothing too much bother. Stayed in apartment which was a great meeting place.

Can be quite noisy. Bit worrying about the limited fire exits, esp being a wooden hotel.

Ambiente sereno, tranquillo, ospitale e decisamente in linea con la tipicità Valdostana (la presenza di molto legno e molte pietre hanno reso l'hotel molto "caldo")

Decisamente la mancanza di un parcheggio comodo, con due bambini è impensabile dover parcheggiare a 100 metri di distanza, per lo più allo scoperto
