Nestled in the heart of the Umbrian countryside, which is renowned for its extraordinarily varied scenery and enchanting colours, the hotel is within a short distance of the centre of Assisi.

Set in the higher part of the old town, the property was established in 1955 and has been courteously managed by the Tardioli family since then. The panoramic position, combined with the peaceful, quiet environment and excellent services, make it the perfect destination for a relaxing stay.

The hotel is aimed primarily at small groups of friends, pilgrims, cultural groups or just groups looking for a quiet place to stay in the centre of Assisi, within walking distance of the town’s churches and sights.

The property offers a warm and friendly atmosphere, fully in-line with current hotel regulations, and is particularly sensitive to rendering access easy for the disabled.

On-site features include ample free parking facilities and a large outdoor swimming pool.

There are a number of antiques at the Hotel Da Angelo, including a magnificent German piano, a carriage that once belonged to one of Assisi’s leading families, a number of antique copper pieces, period motorbikes, agricultural tools – all rare pieces from a world that is now lost.

Food & beverage

The hotel features a restaurant with panoramic terrace accommodating banquets and groups up to 250 people, which serves Italian specialties and international cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere.

Room information

Da Angelo hotel offers nicely appointed rooms, tastefully furnished in typical Umbrian-style, most of which offer lovely views over the Assisi Valley, which runs between Foligno and Perugia.

The furnishings are all in wood, in the simple style known as Arte Povera, very popular in traditional Umbrian decoration.

The property features two disabled-accessible accommodations.

Room at top floor had beautiful view, but too hot. Therefore we moved to the basement (underground)

The hotel overlooked the hillside and it was a very peaceful place to stay at. The staff was helpful and the food at the restaurant was good. I was also able to use the internet for free and the staff actually did some research to help me find a hotel in another town as well as made calls directly to the hotels to make my reservation. For the price, I think this is a very good value.

Iedereen was vriendelijk en voorkomend en probeerde al mijn wensen te vervullen, ik heb een prima verblijf gehad en kan het iedereen aanbevelen.

De communicatie leverde wat problemen op, maar dat is niet specifiek voor dit hotel, dat geldt bijna voor geheel Italië.Ondanks dat zijn we er toch steeds goed uitgekomen.

Mensen waren vriendelijk en attent en probeerden aan al je wensen te voldoen.

Zoals in veel hotels is de communicatie soms moeilijk, als je geen Italiaans spreekt, maar iedereen deed zijn best en het lukte meestal wel.

Lekker gegeten in het restaurant maar het ontbijt was zeer matig.

De kamer was veel te warm, geen airco. Er is geen lift, zelf bagage naar de kamer brengen. Hotel is als het niet te warm is prima te doen maar niet aan te bevelen bij hoge temperaturen.
