Nestled within a 10 acre wooded valley, this 18th century manor house is a peaceful, secluded haven near the Cornish coast.
With roses around the windows in summer, and cosy wood fires in the winter, this is always an ideal place to unwind. Partake of a traditional cream tea in the elegant drawing room; relax in the warm atmosphere of the cocktail bar; browse leisurely through the books in the library; or enjoy the fresh local cuisine and picturesque view in the intimate, refined dining room. When you want to stretch your legs, the hotel's beautiful gardens; expansive wood and secluded heated swimming pool are waiting just outside. A wedding co-ordinator and business manager are on-site to offer a tailored solution to any group occasion.
A Grade II listed Georgian building, the Rose in Vale Country House Hotel is situated in Mithian Village, just outside St. Agnes. The 10 acre valley in which it is situated is packed with wild flowers and teeming with diverse, rare wildlife. A stream runs through its centre.
The restaurant changes its menu every day and strives to use only fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Fish is a speciality and fresh catches are delivered each day. The dining room is candle-lit after dark, and includes sweeping bay windows and soft drapes, with excellent views of the rose beds and wooded slopes. Meal times will vary depending on demand.
The library and drawing room double as function rooms. For seminars and meetings, the rooms can be equipped with TV, VCR, OHP, slide projector and flip chart. Groups of up to 60 can be accommodated - larger events for up to 150 people can be housed in a garden marquee.
St. Agnes Beacon (4 km) - this dominant lankmark stands 629 metres above sea level. Offering panoramic views of the cliffs, 23 miles of coast can be seen on a clear day.
Chapel Porth (5 km) - One of numerous beaches in the area, this attractive area offers stretches for miles at low tide and offers a wealth of walking opportunities. Its cliffs are famous for their distinctive red stain - according to myth the blood of a Cornish giant called Bolster.
Perranporth Golf Club (5 km) - One of six golf courses in the area, situated north of Mithian.
