Room was cold heating not working had to ask twice for a heater.Room overlooked main square and very noisey with people returning home after pubs shut awakened very early with market stall holders erecting market.

Bedroom was freezing , had no heating.. Bathroom very small and fitments all 'past their use by date' ..Breakfast service and food quality was below standard ...bar furnishings very tired ...

The attitude towards our dogs. There was complete acceptance and we never felt uncomfortable about the dogs.

The breakfast was very good, saving grace really. Real sausages used instead of the tasteless catering ones you quite often get. Friendly staff.

Although the rooms and hotel were clean the whole hotel was tatty which let it down unfortunately. Wouldn't consider staying again unless the only option available. Shame as it has the potential of an amazing hotel with all its history. Could do with tastefully updating.

Outside the back of the hotel where outside bar is very very scruffy The noise from the bar & outside by the non resident drinkers was appalling until 3am

Friendly staff, breakfast and the fact that the bed linen and bath towels were clean

The Hotel is in urgent need of updating, the restaurant and bar area was not very clean. The bar shut early and if you wanted a drink you had to go into the adjoining pub for a drink which is definately not suitable for residents of the hotel. It even had a bouncer to deflect locals from entering the Hotel! Got very little sleep due to drunks going home through the town centre shouting!
