The Central Plaza Hotel is a genuine turn-of-the-century hotel with exceptionally high standards, completely renovated in 2001. The hotel boasts large and relaxing lounges, as well as excellent restaurants and piano bar with live entertainment. It is the most centrally located hotel in Zurich, right at the Central Square, between the main railway station and the old town, overlooking the Limmat River. Step aside and you're literally in the heart of Zurich's business, theatre and entertainment area. Bahnhofstrasse, Zurich's most popular shopping street, the banks, several museums and art galleries are only few steps away.

The location is fantastic

There was no hot water for 2 days - however we were recompensed for the inconvenience

A fine hotel. Its location is most convenient, the reception staff very helpful, particularly Kurstana (or sth); he was most helpful and informed. He suggested a very nice excursion and had warned us about what to expect. The room was always clean and tidy. The King's Cave bar & restaurant is a must and the staff working there very nice.

Its breakfast. There was always one sort of breakfast you could have included in your room fee. You had to pay if you wanted a diffrent breakfast menu.

Location and helpful staff.

Cigarette smoke permeates through air-conditioning even into non-smoking rooms. Also no real provision made for non-smokers in restaurants. We had room service to escape cigarette smoke.

Convenience to local transport, fresh fruit on all floors

On 19 Oct I left my room at 6.00 and returned over 9 hours later and the room had not been made up. I told the front desk that I had to sleep before a theatre performance. I left at 19.30 and when I returned at 23.00 the room had still not been made up. I did not place a "Do not disturb notice" on the door.
