always prefer bath and shower rather than just shower. Only stayed one night though so could not complain really.

The room generally was a little "tired" with furniture requiring attention or replacement. The en-suite was adorned with cobwebs and had a "cloakroom-size" washbasin which we considered inadequate. The use of chemical airfreshners run of the the mains concerned us as we do not like these, as they effect us and usually disguise other stronger smells.

Welcoming and helpful staff, especially as we arrived very late in the evening. Spacious room, cleanliness, of room - warm room, comfortable beds - Wonderful position overlooking the park. Clean shower room, toilet and hand basin.

Soap tray was taped on in the bathroom; step on the ground floor to the restaurant behind closed door could be signed; and the step down could be more prominently. I tripped on the way out of the restaurant as I was not expecting a step, and had a slight sprain on my ankle. I should have been offered an incident form to fill in.

The ensuite was very small and the sliding door would not shut properly, therefore there was a lack of privicy!

The staff were most welcoming, even though the room was a little dated the warm welcome made up for it. The location was perfect for exploring the town and with a lovely park accross the road.

more info before making a booking on the size of rooms available would have been helpful, as we found our room cramped - staying one night as we did was fine, but i wouldn't have wanted to have stayed in that room any longer.
