The Edgcumbe Hotel is situated in a superb position, overlooking the sea at Newquay, Cornwalls premier resort. A resort that offers so much to holiday makers, young and old, throughout the four seasons of the year.

Dominating the town is the rugged coastline with seven miles of golden sand, washed by the Atlantic Ocean. Newquays beaches provide firm golden sand backed by dramatic cliffs with coves, sand dunes, caves and exiting rock pools ready and waiting to be explored. Also, of course some of the best surfing in the country, hosting leading international surfing championships for a number of years. The Edgcumbe is situated in a superb position overlooking the beautiful cliff tops of Newquay Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, and only a short walk to the town centre. Among our facilities is a sauna (chargeable). Sam Cobley and family have been in the hotel trade for 40 years. He has a dedicated team that ensures from the moment you arrive until it is time to depart; your stay exceeds expectations and gives you that home from home feeling.

During the winter months, only the continental breakfast is available (October to March inclusive). The kitchen is closed in the winter months (15/10/08-01/04/09) so no evening meals are available.

A damage and disturbance bond of GBP 50 per person is required in cash upon arrival.

location

indoor pool had tissue in it, beds were uncomfortable with lumpy pillows, one chair in the room had no seat support so it felt like you were sitting on the floor, tv only had set top ariel so very poor reception which changed everytime somebody moved in the room, £5 charge for a remote control that didn't work, a dressing table with no chair - a dated hotel needing urgent refurbishment

We could park and it was close to town centre

Hotel is tired and needs to be redecorated , the indoor pool is so small, the walls are paper thin and you are constantly disturbed by people coming and going.

The location.... Its right opposite the cliff that provides stunning views over the Atlantic..The breakfast room,lobby and common areas were excellent.The hostess for our breakfast was a joy!!!!

The quality of the rooms were agonising..We hired 4 rooms and all of them were below the expected standard for the price we paid.Lights and kettles didnt work, carpets were dated, bed linen were not exactly clean/fresh. The rooms definitely need a complete makeover.

the view from our room.

It was our 30th wedding anniversary and we returned to the Edgumbe hotel as we had spent our honeymoon there, I must be honest and we were not expecting a lot but the cooked breakfast was awful, it was dried up and bacon tough, egg tasted old, room not very clean a dead fly on bathroom window ledge was there when we arrived and after the next days cleaning there were 2 dead flies!!
