Run by a young and energetic family, the Edgcumbe has undergone an exciting refurbishment to offer chic seaside style and relaxed, professional service.

Surrounded by sandy beaches and with sweeping views over Summerleaze Beach and the Downs, the hotel is only a 2-minute easy walk from the town. The Edgcumbe has the ideal location from which to explore the many sights and experiences of Cornwall.

You could just stay in and have a Cornish cider in the bar, a home-made scone and hot chocolate in the cosy sun lounge or a relaxed meal in the Gallery Restaurant.

Extra beds and baby cots are upon request and need to be confirmed by the hotel.

Supplements will not be calculated automatically in the total costs and have to be paid separately in the hotel.

The Edgcumbe has a traditional Victorian exterior and a chic and stylish interior. It is located in a quiet crescent overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, the Downs (which form part of the Coastal Path), the historic canal and lock, and the town.

Food & beverage

Enjoy bistro-style dining in The Gallery Restaurant. The new menu includes a mix of traditional cuisine and a hint of the Mediterranean. Dishes are prepared using local ingredients and suppliers.

Have a drink from the well-stocked bar offering local tipples and the opportunity to relax and watch a sunset from the patio or sun lounge.

Room information

Refurbished for 2008 in a classic, chic style, rooms have everything you need for a comfortable and relaxed stay. Many have sea views and king-size beds. Each room has an extensive hospitality tray, quality toiletries and linens and a flat-screen TV with Freeview. Wi-Fi is available in all
rooms.

Area information

Rugged North Cornwall is a haven for those who like the great outdoors, including extreme sports fans. Circular walks and the coastal path are on the doorstep, as well as sea kayaking, rock climbing, and of course, some of the best surf breaks in the South-West.

Bude is also a calm sanctuary offering easy access to the hustle and bustle of places such as Padstowe, Boscastle and Newquay.

My stay was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The owners and staff were friendly but maintained a high level of professionalism and courtesy. The hotel was recently re-decorated to a high standard and was exceptionally clean.

Staff very helpfull and always have time for you, we had free upgrade to excellent room with stunning view just because it was available! good food, nice bar, clean rooms, hotel decorated and dressed very well. we will definetly return.
