nothing in particular, was more the age group it attracted. The room was basic, but adequate for our length of stay

loved the sea view in the room and while the decor was very dated the aspect more than made up for it.

I feel that more effort should be made with people who are travelling alone for business or pleasure not to shunt them into a corner near a door in front of the hotel, i.e. I was not given the option to be seated in the main room. also inordinate delays from when given a table.

Conservatory dining room had good sea views. Resident evening chef, as at 23-26 08 08, was excellent. Foreign waiting staff were well trained and worked well together. They were always pleasant and I was not made to feel a pariah because I was eating alone.

My single room at the back of the hotel was perfectly adequate for a brief stay and was kept clean. Bathroom acceptable but probably due for refurbishment. I might not be so happy with the room if I were staying for a longer period.
