This spacious and modern hotel overlooks the River Liffey and is beside Heuston Station, just 5 minutes from the city and the lively Temple Bar on the Luas tram.

The Ashling Hotel is a well-located, modern city centre hotel near to the Guinness Storehouse, Dublin Zoo and the Phoenix Park.

The Luas tram passes right by the door, taking you to the city centre in just 5 minutes. The Airlink bus operates directly from Dublin Airport to Heuston Station, which is just a 2 minute walk from the hotel.

For large or small meetings, seminars or conferences, the Best Western Ashling Hotel has 10 suitable rooms with Wi-Fi access and the air conditioned Liffey Suite, able to accommodate up to 240 delegates, all run by the hotel's dedicated conference and banqueting department.

With a long established reputation for good food and friendly service, this restaurant remains a firm favourite with our guests.

Enjoy a full Irish breakfast from 07:00 to 10:00, Monday to Sunday.

A carvery lunch is served from 12:30 to 14:30 daily (not open on Sunday for lunch).

An à la carte and table d’hôte dinner service is offered from 18:00 to 21:00, Monday to Saturday, and 18:00 to 20:30 on Sunday.

Important information

There are important developments taking place at the Ashling Hotel. The old wing of the hotel has been demolished including the existing reception, bar, restaurant, kitchen, and the 50 original bedrooms. In its place is being constructed a 8 storey building encompassing 130 stylish new superior bedrooms, Cobblestones bistro, Guinness lounge, brand new conference rooms and all the necessary facilities which should be available in late Spring 2009. In the meantime, the hotel provides an alternative reception, restaurant and bar, all located on the 2nd floor, which has been very well received by guests to date. The multi storey car park (free to residents) is in operation as usual along with several meeting rooms. The hotel entrance can now be accessed from Montpelier Hill at the rear of Parkgate Street. It is well sign posted! During the period of construction the hotel will be doing everything to minimise any possible disturbance or disruption to guests. Hard to find, no clear signs from the main road, especially at night in the dark - even with a map! Breakfast was a buffet but you weren't allowed to serve yourself which was frustrating. It felt like being back at school.

Aggressive staff when I asked if another (non smoking) room might be available. Construction work all night (on your hotel) outside the window meant a sleepless night. The room smelled of stale tobacco - had no option but to keep the window open for air. The worst night stay I've ever had in a hotel at anywhere near this price. I will ensure our company never use best western chain again.

It was very close to everything

When booking this hotel i was not told about the buliding work that went on.I was there as i was doing the dublin martatron.I was woken at 7am the morning after the maratron by buliding work.I.was not told anything about this when booking or on checking in.We were a party of four my friend booked ye on hotel.com i booked ye direct i was charged more then her for trhe same room.

helpful staff. And very clean.

the food was good quality, but the portions were quite small. we had to ask for more chips and patatoes with our main as they would not be enough to feed a child. and to our amaizment were charged for these. on this grounds only we would not recommend the hotel to our friends. its a pitty because other than that it was fine! The breakfeast was 100% to our satisfaction.

The hotel is currently under renovation, but this was not indicated in the advertisement. There are major renovations going on and the work being done is quite disruptive. The hotel entrance has been moved to a back street (Montpellier Hill), which is quite dark and inappropriate (no luggage ramps, difficult doors). Rooms are shabby and the noise caused by renovations is most unpleasant.
