perfect - staff very informative re local services

Smoking is allowed in some rooms, but the smell lingers in the corridor and the whole second floor stank.

Was clean and fairly comfortable, better than expected but could still be better.

Very little wardrobe space and layout of bathroom was a bit strange. Also a bit far from city centre.

Relaxed friendly atmosphere

The size of second bed in family room,as we have a 7 year old son a double was far too big for him and the room.If wwe had known we would have brought his childs air bed.

We were in a disabled room and could not be changed, we were unaware that 'accessible' meant disabled and consequently the bathroom did not suit us. We were put next to a very noisy group of children and compained 4 times- all after midnight at the amount of door slamming and noise coming from their rooms, the hotel staff did nothing more than ring their room meaning it got answered by a child.

I really enjoyed the breakfast! I also arrived very early to check in and as there was a room available, the lady on reception allowed us to take the room around 11.30am. I thought that was very kind and we appreciated that; it saved us hanging around. I don't tend to read guest reviews for hotels unless I am staying for several nights, so I'm afraid I can't answer the question further down

No, it was a pleasant, friendly hotel. I would definitely stay again when I am visiting my relatives.

Check-in was easy, we had a nice view of the river.

I thought there could have been other toiletries such as shampoo and hand cream; nowadays almost all hotels provide this. The waste bins were minute.

Complimentary newspaper was nice, desk, reading lamp, work area was adequate.

Sheets too short for the beds, not folded over the top of the bed, soon bacame uncomfortable. Breakfast a waste of time, piece of fruit, anaemic toast and a kellogs selection box cereal. Only one decaff coffee sachet in the room (though extras cheerfully provided by reception staff). Returned to the room one evening to find all the lights on and a cleaners pass left behind - not very comforting!
