The staff were extremely helpful and polite

I went into a room which smelt of cigarettes so that can't have been checked. I was put into a new room which was very good but in this room there was no bathrobe and the iron didn't work. was too busy to complain about this. Also I ordered a Belfast Telegraph and didn't get it.

One of the security men/bouncers was quite aggressive and intimidating

the only good thing to say is that it was close to the city centre

small rooms, it was missing a bed, cleanliness was not up to standard, the room smelt pretty bad, there was a loud and rough nightclub in the hotel, empty bottles and broken glass scattered around the lobby.

The conference facilities and organisation of the event was excellent

The first room was of a very poor standard, which was not reflected in the price. The decor was tired and shabby, the bathroom was mouldy, and the carpet and chair were dirty. This was compounded by seeing other guests rooms and realising the overwhelming disparity in quality. We were able to move rooms on the second night. Food was stodgy and offered a limited healthy selection.
