17th century former coaching inn, situated on the A644 in the village of Shelf between Halifax and Bradford. The Inn which is full of character, is adorned with a wealth of Oak beams covered in and interesting collection of bric-a-brac.
The Duke of York is conveniently situated between Bradford & Halifax, 3 miles from the M62 and on the main road to Howarth and the Yorkshire Dales. It is ideal for walkers, as the Calderdale Way passes the front door.
Within the Bar there are a wide range of cask conditioned ales available together with an interesting selection of wines & liqueurs. Fresh modern English food served with flair and imagination, accompanied with a selection of New World wines and traditional cask ales. A full lunch and evening meal menu is available 7 days a week.
We have 8 letting bedrooms , all with full en-suite facilities with colour T.V. and tea/coffee making facilities. Five of the rooms are situated within the pub itself with the other two being situated across the road in converted weavers cottages. Ironing Facilities & Hair Dryers. Sorry no pets please.
