We, Danny and Karen invite you to share our home in the quiet and beautiful landscape of Mid-Wales. We offer Bed&Breakfast with an optional evening meal followed by coffee. All the meals are freshly cooked with a Welsh flavour using mainly produce from the farm and garden. Interesting home cooked vegetarian meals are a speciality, There are 2 rooms available for rent, a twin and a double, both en-suite.
Upper Middle Road Farm is located in Mid-Wales, equidistant between Hay on Wye, Brecon and Builth Wells. It is a working 5 acre Smallholding, set at 550 feet, above the Wye Valley. The house is about 200 years old and was once a Wheelwright’s cottage. It has been extended and modernised to provide comfortable warm accommodation with central heating and a log fire but still retains some of the exposed oak beams.
To the front are panoramic views of the Black Mountains sweeping around to the Brecon Beacons. Although quiet, the house is not totally isolated. The village of Boughrood (pronounced Bockrood) is less than a gentle one mile walk and Llyswen is across the bridge spanning the River Wye.
If you want to laze away a sunny day on the River Wye, paddle along one of Britain's most beautiful rivers. The River Wye from Glasbury is ideal for family trips with only a few Grade 1-2 small rapids. A wide range of wildlife such as the kingfishers, swans, herons and cormorants can be seen on the river and around the river banks. On route you can stop at selected places to take a break or have a small BBQ.
