Here at The George Hotel, we offer the ideal base from which to enjoy your stay in the beautiful seaside town of Whitby. Situated right in the heart of the town, everything you may want is within easy walking distance- from the marina and beaches, to museums and shops, and even the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

Come and sample our welcoming atmosphere, with friendly staff, comfortable surroundings, and great facilities. We have a lively hotel bar, Rosie O’Grady’s, where you can sample a pint one of our cask conditioned ales whilst enjoying the evening’s entertainment. Or perhaps you could join us for a meal on Friday & Saturday evenings in the hotel’s newly refurbished Bistro, where wholesome and traditional food is the dish of the day, and we use nothing but the finest locally sourced ingredients.
The accommodation is spread over four floors within our grade two listed building. There are nineteen bedrooms in total, with fifteen en-suite, and four non en-suite rooms.
We have a selection of double, twin and family rooms, with single occupancy available at a supplement. Each of our comfortable bedrooms has colour television, and tea and coffee making facilities.

We can accommodate up to 50 guests, with group bookings welcome. The George Hotel is a popular base for fishing parties, and packed lunches are available if needed. Check for prices (place order at time of booking).
Please note: We have a late night disco in the hotel bar on Friday and Saturday evenings, and as such some noise may be heard in lower floor rooms.
