Score Valley Country House Hotel, located between Woolacombe and Ilfracombe, is one of North Devon’s hidden gems, concealed from the road in its own valley behind a band of tall trees. On entering the private drive you will be transported into the tranquil gardens with ample parking where you can be assured of a peaceful undisturbed break. Indeed many of our guests say they have the best night’s sleep here that they have had in years.
We have eight spacious bedrooms which have been individually furnished to a high standard with king and super king sized beds, retaining many of the period features including some of the original fireplaces and two roll top baths. The rooms are fully en-suite, except one which has private facilities. All are equipped with generous hospitality trays, towels and toiletries, colour TV, shaver points and heated towel rails.
The hotel has a well-stocked Bar with the benefit of a roaring open log fire for the winter months and has a Games Room with Pool, Darts, Shove Ha'penny and traditional Bar Billiards. So guests are welcome to stay in and relax in the hotel or enjoy the wealth of quality restaurants and pubs that Ilfracombe has to offer. Surprisingly, for our country location, all this is only a pleasant 20 walk down the quiet lane via Ilfracombe's award winning Bicclescombe Park.
North Devon has plenty to offer in every season so the hotel is open all year round to to enable guests to enjoy the many attractions or perhaps a golf, surfing, walking, fishing or shooting break. We are also very experienced in providing group accommodation and welcome friends, families or business groups for mid-week or weekend breaks. Our rooms can be configured as twin or large doubles to suit the requirements of the party.
Directions: From the M5 Junction 27 take the A361 to Barnstaple. Keep on the A361 through Barnstaple following signs for Ilfracombe. At Mullacott Cross roundabout continue straight over and the hotel is located exactly mile down the hill on the right hand side. If coming from Ilfracombe town centre take the A361 signposted Barnstaple. On leaving the outskirts of Ilfracombe the hotel is located up the hill on the left hand side.
