Maplewood Backpackers is in Ilfracombe on the fantastic North Devon Coast. The hostel is a lovely Victorian Grade II listed building - built in the late 1800s as the "Highlands Hotel". We have manitained as many of the original features as possible -including the breathtaking Oak Stair case and a real wihte marble fire situated in the dining room.
We offer an informal, warm and welcoming hostel. You can choose either a bed in one of our dorms or, if you want a bit more privavcy, we have a number of well appointed double rooms. Our guests have full use of our computer room with free Internet access.
We also offer a massive self catering kitchen for your use with free use of crockery (just so long as you wash it up again).
We have a large, informal dining room with extra seating and a TV - so you can relax after a hard day enjoying yourself.
Our low season prices start from £14 per person per day - or £70 for the whole week.
We cannot offer on-site car parking but you can unload on the drive and there is plenty of parking available locally.
Due to the nature of the building, we are unable to cater for severely handicapped guests (as the front entrance is up a flight of stairs).
There is no curfew - we just ask that you respect other guests.
